Dr Sakshi Bathla is an Assistant Professor of Accounting and Finance at the LM Thapar School of Management, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology (AACSB Accredited), Patiala. She holds a PhD in Accounting and Finance from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee and has prior industry experience as an Audit Analyst with Deloitte & Touche. Her teaching and research interests span Financial Accounting and Reporting, Banking and Financial Services, FinTech, Credit Risk Analytics, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS/Ind AS), Sustainable Finance, and Corporate Reporting. She has taught undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive−level courses in India and internationally, including at Sheffield Hallam University in the UK.
Dr Bathla has published in reputed international journals, including Heliyon and Accountancy Business and the Public Interest, and actively collaborates with researchers across the UK, South Africa, and other countries. She has presented her work at leading international conferences, including those organised by the American Accounting Association (AAA), the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA), and the European Academy of Management (EURAM). A recipient of the Commonwealth Split−site Scholarship, Dr Bathla is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA), UK. She has secured competitive research funding, supervises doctoral research, serves as a reviewer for international journals, and actively contributes to curriculum development, accreditation initiatives, and academic administration.
